In the Thick of the Flood by Rachel Comba

In the Thick of the Flood by Rachel Comba

Co-winner of the Michelangelo (University & College Students) category at the 2013 Brain & Mental Health Art Show.

This year has been very difficult for me emotionally, and psychologically. My mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. News like that takes away any kind of hope or faith you may have had. It’s a constant struggle to remain optimistic. At times, all you want to do is sit and stare. I was inspired to do this piece of art because I want people to know they are not alone. Sometimes we feel that our feelings are wrong, or misguided, but we need to remember that our feelings are ours, and so, can never be wrong. I hope it brings the faith and hope I’ve been searching for to somebody.
