Patterns in Nature by Anne-Christine Auge

Patterns can be found throughout nature. Looking at some microscopic images of neurons, they can remind us of onions that grow in the soil with their roots that seek water and nutrients, or trees with their many branches reaching out to catch as much sunlight as possible. These dendrites of pyramidal neurons reach out as branches to form a neural network to receive signals and information from other “branches”.

This piece was painted with acrylic paint and water colours.
