Self Compassion by Tasneem Salim

Self Compassion by Tasneem Salim

Raw, cold, and clammy,
Sleepless nights and aching silence
Rub your skin, pat your hair
‘People get through this they say’
Rub your skin, pat your hair
Your warmth, your sympathy

I am very much interested in photography and sometimes we can’t really explain what we’d like to convey through words. I’ve chosen photography. This picture portrays the raw aspect of depression. It leaves you bare and vulnerable. Sometimes the only way to get through the nights is to remind yourself that you are not, in fact, your own worst enemy, but your own true friend. A guide through the night.
