Theory of Mind is a concept in neuroscience that examines the root of empathy. It is best defined as the ability to understand that others have different thoughts and experiences from our own. The ability to empathize is a beautiful and defining trait in people. Important neurobiological areas involved in empathy include the right temporal parietal junction, the medical prefrontal cortex and the posterior superior temporal sulcus.
