Description:The spinal column is the main pathway for information connecting the brain and the peripheral nervous system (the body). This painting displays the four main sections: cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral.
This artwork is part of a larger project to display the beauty of anatomy and physiology. The spinal cord is so essential to our function and well being, as the main site of information integration and response from the brain. Other pieces in this series will include organs such as the heart, the lungs, and the brain, to showcase the beauty and complexity of the human body.
